Assign Accountability
Identify responsible owners so governance responsibility is clear for every AI system.
AI Governance / Europe
Govern AI according to risk.
Section 1 — About the EU AI Act
The EU AI Act establishes a risk-based regulatory framework for AI systems used or placed on the EU market. It covers prohibited AI practices, transparency obligations, general-purpose AI and requirements for higher-risk AI systems.
The Act became broadly applicable on 2 August 2026, while certain high-risk AI obligations follow later transition dates.
For organizations, readiness starts with knowing which AI systems are in use, who owns them, what risks they introduce and what evidence supports responsible governance.
